Preserve completed digests and primary failures when descriptor close fails.
Carry the exact handle owner through provider, readiness, cache, doctor and
verifier boundaries, and retry cleanup without rehashing or retrying a raw fd.
Close candidate-owned resources even when no target client was opened.
Keep verifier workspaces when provider shutdown remains incomplete.
Refs #4266
Replace fixed Linux Hopper release pins with current vendor feed metadata,
complete detached-PGP package verification under the stable publisher primary
key, and authenticated package evidence for offline admission. Share parsed
publisher facts across approved setup, doctor and the pre-execution guard.
Preserve existing ownership, cancellation, private-display and cleanup rules.
Fixes#3577
Normalize empty XDG settings, preserve backups during approved cache repair,
and retain publisher cleanup through cancellation and shutdown. Exercise cold
offline verification without reusing process-local proof state. Serialize
approved cache publication across processes, restore old evidence on failure,
and share the existing lease owner from process without changing its identities.
Validation: 438 focused tests (six platform-related skips), full static/documentation checks, real Ubuntu
24.04 official Hopper 6.6.0 setup/CLI/MCP, offline ordinary-user admission,
launcher mutation rejection, and cold/warm verification measurements. Official
RPM metadata mismatch is tracked separately in #3578 and fails closed.
BREAKING CHANGE: Older Linux Hopper builds admitted by the fixed allowlist
now require retained publisher-signed package evidence or an approved update
to the current public demo. Update explicit HOPPER_LAUNCHER_PATH values when
migrating; the live feed exposes only its current release.

* fix(host): separate REA host support from Hopper installer targets
LinuxDistribution.supported carried two meanings at once: that the host runs
REA, and that the automated Hopper installer is tested on it. The doctor read
the first meaning from the second, so Debian-derived hosts such as Kali
reported unsupported_host while their providers worked normally.
Rename the field to hopperSetupSupported, which only the Hopper installer and
setup planning consume, and derive host support from the package family
through supportsReaHost(). Any distribution with a recognized apt, dnf, or
pacman family is now a REA host. The tested Hopper installer list is
unchanged, so Debian and Kali keep falling back to configuring an existing
provider instead of downloading an untested package.
Verified on Kali 2026.3 (Debian testing, x86_64): rea doctor reports a healthy
environment with Ghidra 12.1.4, and analyze_function decompiles an x86_64 ELF
through the MCP server. npm run check, npm run docs:check, and the application
and Ghidra suites pass. No Hopper or IDA host workflow was exercised.
* fix(setup): stop skill checks after first drift

Deliver complete Evidence directly through MCP with required nullable analysis profiles and immutable per-server delivery settings. Bind selected environments at construction and require typed cleanup outcomes with retained retry ownership.
Remove test-only routing, duplicate session and snapshot metadata, producer-field repairs, and ambiguous provider arguments. Separate artifact byte identity from occurrence classification and retain typed source-map and partial native facts across CLI, MCP, and verifier consumers.
BREAKING CHANGE: obsolete Evidence envelopes, session aliases, incomplete snapshots, and missing normalized producer facts are no longer accepted.
* refactor(domain): split error taxonomy into thematic modules
Move each error family out of domain/errors.ts into its own module
(base, core, provider selection/adapter, browser observation,
artifact, evidence, unknown registry, hopper, configuration) and
relocate AnalysisErrorProjection to analysisErrorProjection.
Migrate all 162 importers to the owning modules and delete
errors.ts. No re-export shims; behavior is unchanged.
* refactor(runtime): name all silent catch causes without changing diagnostics
Bind cause in every bare catch and unhandled rejection across src/.
Real failures preserve the cause for logging; best-effort cleanup
carries an explicit comment. Caller-visible and Evidence strings are
byte-identical to before.
* refactor(test): colocate pure-domain tests and reduce test debt
Move focused immutable domain/contracts/adapter tests from
tests/composition/** beside their production owners under src/** as
colocated *.test.ts/*.fixture.ts, and relocate persistence-shaped
composition tests under tests/boundary/filesystem/**. Update import
paths, the Vitest project topology (shared worker context for pure
domain/contracts and recording-port service projects), the test
migration ledger, testing docs, and AGENTS.md to match.

* docs: remove test migration ledger
The cutover is complete and the ledger is no longer referenced anywhere
in source, scripts, or the docs gate. Drop the standalone artifact.

* docs: clean up stale migration artifacts
Remove empty directories left by the test migration and replace the
"final cutover" language in docs/testing.md with standing PR guidance
that no longer references the completed migration.

* fix: repair CI failures from schema, knip, and stale generated artifacts
Three root causes fixed:
1. catalog-schemas.mjs: valuesAt only traversed anyOf from Zod's
toJSONSchema, not oneOf. The webScreenshotDiffSchema change to a
discriminated union produces oneOf, so the product catalog generator
could not derive the web_screenshot_diff schema version. Add oneOf
traversal.
2. conformancePackage.ts: the test rewrite removed the only imports of
ScenarioManifest, ReplayPlan, ShimPlan, and ExpectedEvidence, making
them unused exports that knip flags. Remove the dead type aliases.
3. Regenerate stale artifacts (product catalog, MCP tool catalog, skill
metadata, conformance manifest) that drifted from the source changes.
