Record cancellation at file checkpoints and before owner handoff. Keep physical hash failures, exact reasons, completed facts and failed-close owners distinct through artifact and provider projections and cleanup retries.
Refs #4598. Validated with 566 passing affected tests and 22 platform skips; final Kuna cleanup reason rerun passed 43 tests. No Android device or real JADX/Kuna execution claimed.
* feat(android): make the JADX operation deadline configurable
JADX operations used a fixed 120 s provider deadline and a separate fixed
120 s per-call bound in the session, so an APK whose cold load exceeds
120 s could not complete, and raising only the MCP client timeout could
not extend either. Add REA_JADX_OPERATION_TIMEOUT_MS, parsed once by the
JADX configuration owner (decimal milliseconds from 1 to 2147483647,
default 120000). The provider resolves it before acquiring anything and
uses it for the operation deadline and its timeout errors, and the session
uses it for every upstream call. Doctor reports the effective value, and
setup forwards an explicit value like the other JADX settings.

* test(android): isolate JADX fixtures from inherited shell settings
The shared JADX protocol fixture spread the developer's process.env, so an
exported REA_JADX_OPERATION_TIMEOUT_MS (or REA_JADX_HEAP_MIB) changed every
provider test that never selected one. Keep inheriting the host environment
for process launch, but take REA_JADX_* settings only from the fixture.

* fix(application): retain completed evidence through cancellation
Validate completed provider reports before classifying cancellation and preserve Evidence and captured diagnostics. Share MCP recording and delivery across custom observation handlers. Add source-owned completion and public SDK recording controls. Refs #3923, #3927, #4261.
* fix(wasm): retain final observations through cancellation
Keep completed Evidence after finalization and through CLI/MCP delivery. Preserve output and cleanup failure precedence. Refs #4254.
* fix(browser): retain final observations and forward cancellation
Classify final CDP detach and completed scenario cleanup at the provider boundary. Translate completed partials into canonical Evidence for MCP recording, and forward CLI cancellation to passive Electron tools. Refs #4255, #4256, #4257.
* fix(ghidra): isolate cancellation of shared startup waiters
Keep startup group-owned while each caller has an independent abortable wait. Await final-owner cleanup and preserve cleanup facts before retrying. Reuse the shared abortable promise helper. Refs #3983.
* fix(mcp): keep shutdown registrations until cleanup succeeds
Retain repeated event requests while unresolved owners need cleanup, and unregister only after success. Verify coalescing and failed-owner retry. Refs #4253.
* fix(adb): own transfer snapshots and stage screen publication
Bind transfer digests to the exact private input bytes and preserve caller APK names. Retain failed descriptors and private-root owners with typed cleanup evidence; publish captures exclusively after the cancellation cutoff. Refs #4251, #4252.
* fix(verification): report ADB cleanup failures
Always close after attempted verification and keep unexpected primary failures and cleanup details visible. Exercise the production script with controlled imports, including null and undefined throws. Refs #4260.
* fix(runner): stop owned Windows commands on cancellation
Use the retained ChildProcess handle for IPC cancellation and parent disconnection. Keep the SQLite lock until observed child close, and include native Windows regressions in the curated CI lane. Native Windows results remain pending. Refs #4258.
* fix(website): canonicalize link containment boundaries
Compare resolved targets with resolved repository and site roots. Accept directory aliases while preserving escape checks and keep fixtures within their temporary owner. Refs #4264.

Bind the typed hash failure to its retained descriptor and resolve cleanup uncertainty only when that exact owner closes. Preserve the original failure through immediate retirement and later shutdown recovery. Controlled real-file regressions cover immediate and persistent close faults; no real JADX engine was launched. Refs #4266, #4274.
Preserve completed digests and primary failures when descriptor close fails.
Carry the exact handle owner through provider, readiness, cache, doctor and
verifier boundaries, and retry cleanup without rehashing or retrying a raw fd.
Close candidate-owned resources even when no target client was opened.
Keep verifier workspaces when provider shutdown remains incomplete.

Share tagged readiness observations, retain partial provider facts, authenticate bridge identity, bound diagnostics, and preserve cancellation and lost-session reasons. Fail closed for unparsed MIPS ABI attributes and macOS saved Hopper databases without a script-capable bridge route.

Validation: 285 focused source/boundary tests passed. Real Ghidra, IDA, Linux Hopper, and Windows provider runs were not repeated.
BREAKING CHANGE: MIPS targets with unresolved GNU ABI attributes and saved Hopper databases on macOS are refused rather than advertised as supported.
Parse Apktool YAML and XML at the producer boundary, preserving scalar spelling, XML text and partial string coverage. Retain repeated JADX inventory rows with explicit duplicate-name counts and lookup ambiguity. Make the Apktool verifier report cleanup failures.
Validation: parser, provider and JADX fixture boundary tests; typecheck, lint and documentation checks. Real Apktool and JADX engines were not exercised.
Refs #1978
Resolve current paths and JVM options and rehash source identities for each request. Probe Java modules and engine capabilities only when creating a new session; remove the superseded full configuration resolver.
Focused configuration, session retirement, cancellation, cleanup and Android MCP boundaries passed. The 34-operation retained session now performs one prerequisite probe. Protocol fixtures do not establish real JADX or JDK performance.
Forward caller and timeout cancellation through engine and APK snapshots, release stream handles before removing partial output, and retain the existing root cleanup authority. Verify cancellation after destination bytes appear with a sparse filesystem fixture.
Retain both non-auto-closing copy streams and destroy them after verification, before awaiting their FileHandle closure. This releases stream-held descriptor references on success and failure instead of deadlocking Android snapshot cleanup.
Validation: all 33 JADX subprocess integration tests passed on macOS with Node 24.18.0; check:fast and formatting passed. No real JADX provider execution or Linux/Windows verification was performed locally.
Support owned JADX stdio on Windows x64, preserve protocol input errors through cancellation, and verify native stdin and Android CLI/MCP lifecycle on the real Windows host.
Closes#1262
Deliver complete Evidence directly through MCP with required nullable analysis profiles and immutable per-server delivery settings. Bind selected environments at construction and require typed cleanup outcomes with retained retry ownership.
Remove test-only routing, duplicate session and snapshot metadata, producer-field repairs, and ambiguous provider arguments. Separate artifact byte identity from occurrence classification and retain typed source-map and partial native facts across CLI, MCP, and verifier consumers.
BREAKING CHANGE: obsolete Evidence envelopes, session aliases, incomplete snapshots, and missing normalized producer facts are no longer accepted.
* perf(graph): avoid repeated traversal edge scans and copies
* fix(android)!: preserve JVM settings and reuse metadata sessions
Read class metadata without generating application source, retain immutable serialized APK sessions, and join owned cleanup on cancellation and shutdown.
BREAKING CHANGE: Android analysis now requires a full JDK 17 or newer with its compiler module for the packaged Java source bridge.
Keep adapter/OS helper failures in diagnostics instead of replacing them
with a canned remediation sentence. Share browserVersionSchema, Node
support prose, and JADX heap/remediation constants so release pins stay
authoritative.

* fix(ghidra): admit the 12.1 line and the install's JDK range
The provider treated the verified Ghidra 12.1.4 build and JDK 21 as the only
legal installation, so a working 12.1.x package or a newer JDK was rejected
before analysis started.
Admission now follows the 12.1 release line and application.java.min/max.
A compatible build other than 12.1.4 keeps its observed version and records
that the bridge was verified against 12.1.4.
Fixes#821
* fix(ghidra): stop pinning the NativeAOT build to one version string
The build script still rejected every Ghidra release except the literal
12.1.4 and every javac except major 21. It now accepts the 12.1 line and
javac 21 or newer, compiles with --release 21, and records the observed
Ghidra version. The JADX engine version uses the audited release constant.
* fix(ghidra): report unverified builds on analysis results
Session open uses health only as a startup gate and discards that
execution, so the unverified-build limitation never reached CLI or MCP
results. Attach it to every Ghidra execution for that install.
